Travel in Italy as an Italian
Puglia is located in the South Italy, surrounded by two seas, the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea.
It is called “il tacco d’Italia” the “heel of Italy”. This region has amazing landscape and towns.
Its gorgeous coasts, both sandy and rocky; the beautiful monuments and the historic center of Lecce (the capital); Ostuni, called the “white town”; Otranto and Gallipoli, two different towns overlooking two different seas; Alberobello, a particular town with the famous houses called “trulli”; Polignano A Mare, an amazing town overhanging the sea; thousands ancient olives grooves and vineyards… this is only one part of the beautiful region of Puglia!
The cuisine is various: seafood is prevalent, but also vegetables (well known tomatoes, artichokes, zucchini, chicory, eggplants) and cheeses, as the burrata and stacciatella…delicious! As wine, the red one has the majority of the production, that’s why many wine producers make the rosé wine, for the fish pairing, and the extra olive oil production is one of the biggest in Italy.
