Sicily
Sicily is the biggest island of Italy, located in the South part of the country.
Thanks to its geographical position, in the past it was dominated by several populations,
who left their influence, that you can see still today, both on the architecture and on the food!
Sicily is the best combination of different cultures and cuisines:
- Norman style in Palermo area (the street food is the best expression);
- Arabic style in Trapani area (the cous cous is the symbol of this cuisine);
- Spanish style in Ragusa area (the artisanal chocolate is predominant, not only as dessert)!.
As it is an island, in the Sicilian cuisine you will find a lot of seafood, but in Ragusa the black pork of Nebrodi Mountains is renewed and also the cultivation of vegetables is very important, thanks to the sun almost all the year. Last, but not least, the production of wines (both red and white) and of extra virgin olive oil is one of the most important of the region.
Besides the food, also the landscape is really interesting and complex: mountains, hills, rock coasts, sandy coasts and a gorgeous sea make Sicily a jewel to see!
Puglia
Puglia is located in the South Italy, surrounded by two seas, the Adriatic and Ionian Sea.
It is called “il tacco d’Italia” the “heel of Italy”. This region has amazing landscape and towns.
Its gorgeous coasts, both sandy and rocky; the beautiful monuments and the historic center of Lecce (the capital); Ostuni, called the “white town”; Otranto and Gallipoli, two different towns overlooking two different seas; Alberobello, a particular town with the famous houses called “trulli”; Polignano A Mare, an amazing town overhanging the sea; thousands ancient olives grooves and vineyards… this is only one part of the beautiful region of Puglia!
The cuisine is various: seafood is prevalent, but also vegetables (well known tomatoes, artichokes, zucchini, chicory, eggplants) and cheeses, as the burrata and stracciatella…delicious! As wine, the red one has the majority of the production, that’s why many wine producers make the rosé wine, for the fish pairing, and the extra virgin olive oil production is one of the biggest in Italy.

Sardinia
Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after Sicily, located in the center of the western Mediterranean. Rich in mountains, the Gennargentu is the largest mountain complex in the region, forests, largely uninhabited territories, waterways, beautiful rocky coasts and long sandy beaches, as the amazing Costa Smeralda, for the variety of its ecosystems the island has been defined as a micro-continent.
This is a unique island, for centuries and centuries "far" from the Mediterranean history and commerce, land of ancient civilizations and shepherds, who left the “nuraghi”, ancient cone-shaped defensive towers, the largest and best preserved in Europe. Sardinia is one of the most artisanal regions and its cuisine is varied, based on an agro-pastoral culture, enriched in history through contributions and contaminations from contacts and exchanges between different Mediterranean cultures. Varied and diverse, it ranges from roasted meats, to bread, pasta, cheeses and wines.
The basis of Sardinian cuisine is durum wheat, that gives to the region typical products and dishes: Carasau bread, malloreddus (traditional gnocchi of durum wheat semolina flavored with saffron), fregola (a particular dry pasta made from durum wheat semolina) and the Culurgiones (typical pasta stuffed with ricotta and mint). One of the symbols of this cuisine is the “Porcheddu sardo” typical pork meat, but there are so many traditional products, as Pecorino Sardo, bottarga, saffron, tuna, myrtle. Sardinia also produces excellent wines.
In a few words, Sardinia deserves to be discovered in all its shades…

Catalonia
Catalonia: a captivating tour among taste and history, discovering the origins of Sicilian chocolate and the culinary traditions and flavors of the region.
A roughly triangular region in Spain's far north-east corner, Catalonia is separated by the Pyrenean mountains from southern France, with which it has close historical and cultural ties.
When you arrive, the first thing you'll notice is the diverse landscape. The Mediterranean shows up in the story. This sea bathes the entire coast, which affects the character of the people here. It has been an entry point for many civilisations and cultures who have together woven the history of Catalonia and formed the Catalan culture: with its own language, Catalan, and multiple expressions.
But the sea is not all. To the north, the Catalan Pyrenees rise imposingly as the second natural border, where the rural world coexists with the new visitors, and also the 18 Natural Parks around the country.
Let be inspired by Tarragona and its ancient walls and amphitheatre or by Barcelona with its Gaudi’s architectural hallmark modernist buildings; not to forget to have a walk among the streets of Girona and its Jewish Quarter, one of the best preserved in the world, and a stop in other wonderful little “jewel” places worth visiting in the region…
Catalonia is a gastronomic paradise, where Catalan cuisine is a mouthwatering blend of heritage, produce, terroir, tradition, creativity, innovation.
Catalonia's gastronomic heritage can be traced back to medieval times and is still based on the value of produce and terroir stemming from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients that reflect the vast wealth of the Catalan landscape: the sea, the mountains, vegetable gardens, orchards and woodland…
